Sal the Stockbroker returns!
Sal talks about comedy, prank calls, Kate Hudson, E-Crap, and of course, Baba
Booey.
For seven years, Sal Governale, better known as Sal the Stockbroker, has been entertaining fans of the Howard Stern Show with his relentless mockeries of Stern producer Gary Dell'Abate (Baba Booey), his prank phone calls, countless supporting in-studio appearances, and topical features.
Still a mainstay on the Stern show, Sal has also begun to branch his unique comedy out in several ways, including a slate full of comedy club appearances with the likes of Stern's Stuttering John, Rev. Bob Levy, Jim Florentine, and others.
Among Sal's latest gems are a website (www.ihatekatehudson.com), some great animation
featuring Baba Booey, Robin Quivers, and others, and some of those classic Sal phone calls (both prank, and into the Stern show). All of these can be seen and heard at his website, www.horsetoothjackass.com.
Ever since his first E-Crap appearance, Sal has been a great friend and supporter of E-Crap.com. As he is about to embark on an aggressive stand-up comedy schedule, we were happy that he was able to spend a few minutes with us, to catch up, and get us up-to-date with his latest happening.
So... without further delay, E-Crap revisits with Sal!
The NEW E-Crap Interview
E-Crap - It seems you have been featured on Stern more than ever recently. Can we expect this trend to continue?
SAL - The show is very spontaneous and I consider myself that way as well so as long as the format doesn't change I should be ok
E-Crap - Since we last spoke, you have begun to make a major name for yourself in stand-up comedy! How did this come about?
SAL - When I went on Stern for the first time in 1996 Jackie had told me (during commercial break) that I should go into standup because I was very quick on my feet. I considered it but was a bit intimidated by it at the time. Then 6 years later Rev. Bob Levy came rolling around and got my ass in gear. Its been a blast ever since. I've been hanging with all the great comics and what's even better is that I get to break their balls too. Standup is a craft that requires alot of hard work. I don't take it lightly and have incredible respect for those who do it.
E-Crap - How do you like working comedy with Stuttering John?
SAL - John has been a 5 star gentlemen. We just finished four shows at Rascals with Nick Dipaolo and Mike Bochetti and it was great. John blew me away, the guy is fucking funny. Along with John I must say that KC is hilarious as well and nobody but nobody is funnier the Rev. Bob Levy.
E-Crap - Given ten minutes alone in a room with Kate Hudson, how would you spend those minutes?
SAL - With my cock in her mouth. Thats the only way she can bring me pleasure and keep her from yapping at the same time.
E-Crap - What's this we hear about a prank call CD you're releasing?
SAL - The cd is titled "pranks for nothing" & will be out in December. Completely original and very edgy.
E-Crap - What's up with Facial, your band?
SAL - Facial is on hold. I had a great time and love those guys like brothers. You can still get our cd at www.facialband.com.
E-Crap - Who's more annoying, J.Lo, Ben.Lo, or Baba Booey?
SAL - J lo.
E-Crap - Is Baba Booey aging well?
SAL - His fur is beginning to shows signs of silver so I would have to say yes.
